Connecticut’s Strategic Employment Plan

MAXIMIZING OPPORTUNITIES FOR SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND FULL PARTICIPATION

Guided by a steering committee comprised of state agencies, persons with disabilities, providers, and advocates, Connecticut is in the process of developing a five-year strategic employment plan. The planning process has several phases. The first phase was a needs assessment completed in August of 2006 by the University of Connecticut Health Center. The assessment identified the unmet needs of employers and of employees with disabilities.  To complete the needs assessment, partnership agreements were entered into with 22 organizations.
